Saddam Maake: We were so thirsty for trophies

In this edition of Supporters Forum, KickOff speaks to Kaizer Chiefs prominent supporter Saddam Maake about the club's recent achievement in the CUFA Cup.

"We were so much thirsty for trophies, actually we used to be cup specialists," Maake tells KickOff.

"Last season we struggled, we didn't even make the top eight, resulting in us the supporters sending a request to the management to get us Nabi or Pitso.

"It's been three games now playing in front of sold out stadiums. I'm still not happy with the trophy drought, the Cufa Cup was just a wake up call telling us something is coming.

"The celebrations are not about the Cufa Cup or the trophy, it was about seeing the coach trying different combinations, we still need more cups.

"Now we are going for the Black Label [Carling Knockout]. We are happy with what happened last week because we can see where the coach is taking us.

"The other people they are busy talking bad about us saying we making noise about the Cufa Cup... Yes, we're suppose to make noise because we can see where we going," he added.

"With the coach we have, technical team we have, players we have...our glory days will be back soon.

"Look at how the club's supporters have been filling stadiums left and right. Our coach has promised us two strikers in January. And most important, Kappa is back.

"We have a team that can compete, and what I like about our coach is, he loves the supporters. He knows Kaizer Chiefs it's not the first time he's in the country.

"They robbed us at FNB Stadium against Sundowns because they thought it would make us fight our coach. To their surprise we stood by him instead and gave him the support."
