Chelsea give the golden treatment to fastest man in Africa

English giants Chelsea played gracious hosts to Olympic gold medallist Letsile Tebogo during his visit to Stamford Bridge, giving the Botswana sprint sensation a night to remember.

Tebogo was in attendance as the Blues stormed to an emphatic 4-0 victory over Southampton on Tuesday night.

Goals from Marc Cucurella, Levi Colwill, Pedro Neto, and Christopher Nkunku sealed an important three points for the London outfit, who are determined to secure a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League.

The 21-year-old sprinter watched on from the stands, perhaps wondering if any of the players on the pitch could match his blistering speed.

That would be a tall order, as Tebogo made history at the 2024 Summer Olympics by clinching gold in the 200 metres event — securing Botswana's first-ever Olympic gold medal.

Following the match, Chelsea ensured that the African speedster received a warm welcome, presenting him with a personalised Chelsea jersey featuring his name and the number 80.

The club took to social media to express their excitement at having him in attendance.

"Great to have you with us today," the Blues posted on Instagram, alongside a picture of Tebogo at Stamford Bridge.

Tebogo had previously been seen imitating the 'cold' celebration of Chelsea star Cole Palmer, and the pair finally linked up after the match for a photo, with the sprinter proudly holding his new jersey.
