'How do you praise someone you keep on the bench for 70 min'

With Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson having vowed that teenage sensation Mfundo Vilakazi will get more game time, KickOff readers have now reacted to the news following the youngster's cameo against AmaZulu. Here's a look.

The story

Amakhosi registered back-to-back draws when they played out to a 1-1 stalemate with Usuthu on Sunday. The result leaves the Soweto giants hopeful in their quest to finish in the top eight. In his post-match press conference, Johnson rued the chances his team missed and praised Vilakazi after yet another brief cameo in the first-team shirt, vowing that the youngster will have more time to play.

KO readers on Facebook have now reacted to those comments.

"Vilakazi, Duba, Shabalala, and Jansen should all start in the remaining games," says Lubabalo Sontsele.

"I wish to see Obrigado playing with Zwane in that middle," says Lonwabo LonBee Gebashe.

"How do you praise someone you keep on the bench for 70 minutes and let him play less than 15 minutes every match," asks Mashango William Vuma.

"Vilakazi is a good player. Unfortunately, he is playing for the wrong team," says Noluthando Kaboyellow Sandawana Nqoko.

"Let the boy enjoy game time to develop, gain experience, and build his confidence,"says Mike McCarthy.

"But he is not giving him enough time to play, only 15 to 20 minutes," says Stembele Fleps.

"He dished out a beautiful pass, it deserved a goal," says Don Trevor.

"He must stop praising him if he doesn't trust him," says Andrew Madiope.

"He must not forget Zwane and Mashiane," says Sthole Prince.

"Coach,  you failed dismally in identifying a winning combination within your squad. You have players that could have won you games.Castillo prevailed as a great player under Coach Ntseki. Potsane was a marvel to watch with Mmodi and Du Preez but you dismantled that combination. I could go on Mr Johnson, you were your own downfall. Mfundo could have won you more games if you really gave him game time," says Mzwandile Mvuyana.

"This boy is physically strong for his small body. He should work on his acceleration," says Ras Igunya Nongoloza.

"That boy is marvelous," says Timbo Jola

"But why did you take out Mdu? He was influential," says Gift Mochubela.

Meanwhile, AmaZulu boss Pablo Franco Martin was left unhappy with his side's fortunes after the match, claiming that his team should have been awarded a penalty from a handball but it was deemed to be outside the box.

"Eish it's outside the box, how can it be a penalty when the hand is in its [natural] position? So it's a ball to hand," says Mxolisi Maviyo Mncwango.

"He celebrated an offside goal," says Michael Not-Hlomla Magugwana.

"This coach is a crybaby and he will cost his team with such behavior. He must be strong, sometimes decisions go your way and sometimes they don't. I don't like his attitude," says Sphiwo Sipho C Bafana.

"It was outside the box but yes it was a handball, says Sipho Zulu Jonas.

"It wouldn't be an AmaZulu coach if there wasn't any complaints about the referee," says Modise Shuga Ncube.

"Also, if the ball touches the body first then the hand, it is not an offence," says Mnivo Neo.

"From our side, that was outside the box, sir," says Darlington Maila.

"He forgot he scored an offside goal," says Doughlas Mothasa.

"You will never get a penalty outside the box believe me," says Dumisani Mngxongo Molo.

"But from your side, there was no offside by Lestoalo," says Siboniso Nhlanekhulu.

"This coach is a cry baby. The referee and his officials cost Chiefs 3 points and he is very much aware because that was a clear offside. Then he complains about a ball to a hand," says Tsoeu Thooe.
