Last season, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Bathusi Aubaas, Thapelo Maseko, Zuko Mdunyelwa, Tashreeq Matthews, Junior Mendieta, Matias Esquivel, Lesiba Nku, Thembinkosi Lorch and Sanele Tshabalala were all in the arrivals lounge.

The previous year, it was Abdelmounaim Boutouil, Ronwen Williams, Marcelo Allende, Sipho Mbule, Terrence Mashego with Maema having arrived the same season as Sifiso Ngobeni, Bradley Ralani, Thabiso Kutumela, Teboho Mokoena, Divine Lunga, Grant Kekana, Abubeker Nasir, Pavol Safranko and Erwin Saavedra.

"When playing for Sundowns, with every window you must expect players (to arrive)and that's the truth of the matter," says Maema.

"It is a big club and there is a lot of investment when it comes to players.

"There is a lot of investment from the board when it comes to the signing of players to win every single competition.

"So, for us, it lingers at the back of our minds that we need to also help management by making sure that we collect every trophy that is there for the taking.

"What is going to help us is sticking together because I don't think every player at Sundowns would have been there if it wasn't for the talent.

"It is never easy, but it is football at the end of the day, and we will make sure that it doesn't disturb us in any way but always better our performances so that next season we are better than the previous season," says Maema.
