The match comes just three days before the Tshwane giants do battle with Esperance of Tunisia for the first leg of a CAF Champions League quarterfinal tie.
Onyango is well aware of the task lying ahead, particularly with multiple fixture in a short space of time.
"The preparations have gone well," the veteran told the club's media.
"Of course we would have liked to play a couple of weeks back. The match was postponed when we were at the camp.
"We are looking forward to the game, even though some guys were in the national team. They will come in and join us for just a few days, but we have no choice, we have to play because we have to play a lot of games, the Champions League and the Nedbank Cup.
"Whoever gets the opportunity to play has to give their best because we are here to play. For me, I think the game on Friday will give us one more game before we play Esperance," added the man with a total of 11 league titles to his collection.
