After scoring 14 goals in four games, Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has opened up on the prospect of their fearsome attack coming up against Kaizer Chiefs.
Sundowns put their scoring woes in the MTN8 behind them, after a rotation system started to yield results against Mbabane Swallows in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round first-leg match, where they won 4-0.
The same line-up was largely entrusted with the opening Premiership encounter against SuperSport United, which ground out a 2-0 victory.

And after wholesale changes in virtually a dead-rubber second leg against Swallows, where The Brazilians won 4-0, a largely unfancied team, without stars such as Teboho Mokoena, Khuliso Mudau and with the likes of Thembinkosi Lorch and Themba Zwane on the bench, hammered Marumo Gallants 4-1 to extend their perfect start in the Betway Premiership to two games.
With Sundowns more counter-attack-oriented and prioritizing shots at goal and on target, rather than possession, will their winning streak with a lot of goals continue against Chiefs - whom they thrashed 5-1 in their previous league clash - on Saturday at FNB Stadium?
"It's always difficult to preempt what is going to happen in the next match. It's our wish to see the team scoring goals, it's our wish to see the team creating a lot of opportunities," Mngqithi responded during Tuesday's post-match press conference.
"But with due respect, it's always important to give respect to the opponents because you don't want to go into that match with the sense that you're entitled to the result or you're entitled to score goals.

"Because I think at the moment Chiefs are also playing well and they are really a big force in South African football. They still need to be given the necessary respect that they deserve. But, be that as it may, we will try to give it our best shot to try and see what we can make of it and hopefully the gods of football will be with us to score those goals."
