Dan Dance confirms return date

Marumo Gallants FC head coach Dan 'Dance' Malesela has confirmed his exact return date to the club.

In an interview with KickOff, Malesela stated that he will not be part of the team facing Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium today at 15:00.

Malesela has been placed on special leave by Gallants management due to personal circumstances that require his attention.

In his absence, the club has appointed former Casric Stars coach Sundra Govender as Malesela's second assistant coach, alongside Duncan Lechesa.

Both Lechesa and Govender will lead the team in today's Betway Premiership match against the Buccaneers.

Currently, Orlando Pirates sit in second place on the log table, just three points behind defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns, while Gallants are in 12th place with 10 points from nine matches.

Malesela has indicated that he will return to the club in 2025. The Gallants' next league match is scheduled for December 28, 2024, away against Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

"No, I will not be part of the team in the game against Orlando Pirates," Malesela told KickOff.

"This doesn't mean there are any developments, I am still on leave.

"My leave will only end after the Sekhukhune United game, and I'm in constant communication with Duncan."

Kick-off in Orlando is set for 15:00.
