PSL coach fired on Boxing Day, via WhatsApp

Another coach has been dismissed, this time by a Motsepe Foundation Championship club.

Venda FC have parted ways with Vladislav Heric, following a series of disappointing results.

Heric believes that the Limpopo club has done him a favour by sacking him.

Currently, Venda FC is at the bottom of the first division log table, having secured only two wins in 14 league matches.

"Christmas was excellent, I was with my family, switched off my phone, and it was beautiful. But when Boxing Day arrived, I turned my phone back on, and the first message I received was, 'You are fired'," Heric stated in an interview with KickOff.

The coach added that his dismissal was in the form of a WhatsApp text message.

"They informed me yesterday. They claimed they tried to call me but, as expected, couldn't reach me since it was the holiday.

"They did not explain their reasons in the WhatsApp message. However, I didn't feel bad about it, this was the best decision they could have made for me."

Heric expressed that while he appreciated the decision, he felt it was somewhat disrespectful.

"They made it seem as though I called them for help when, in fact, they were the ones who called me to rescue them. The players are not to be blamed, they played good football. The issue lies with the management."

Despite the challenges, Heric is optimistic about the chances of PSL newbies, Magesi, avoiding relegation this season.

"They will survive. As for me, I'm just looking for another opportunity, hoping something will come my way."
