Orbit College's lead cut after loss to resurgent Baroka

Orbit College 0-1 Baroka FC

Orbit College's lead at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship came under threat again after a 1-0 loss to o a resurgent Baroka FC on Saturday.

It is the table-toppers second defeat in a row following last weekend's 3-1 loss to Maritzburg United, while Baroka bagged a consecutive win to go fourth on the table.

The effort that separated the two sides came in the first half and the man who made all the difference was Junior.

NB La Masia 0-0 Maritzburg United

Maritzburg United were unable to close-in to the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship following a goalless draw against NB La Masia on Friday.

The Team of Choice got their campaign on track again following a 3-1 win over Orbit College last weekend, while La Masia were held by Pretoria Calies thus remain in mid-table.

JDR Stars 2-2 Casric Stars

JDR Stars rallied from a two-goal deficit to claim a 2-2 draw against Casric Stars in the day's other encounter at the Giant Stadium in Soshanguve.

It's the host second draw in many matches, as a first half double from Tlhalefang Kgabane was cancelled out in the second stanza by top- scorer Prince Nxumalo and leave the Hammerboys in third position.

Marumo Gallants 4-2 Pretoria Callies

Pretoria Callies remained winless as well as the bottom of the table following a 4-2 defeat at the Isak Steyl Stadium to Marumo Gallants FC.

Callies, who have played 12 times so far, have eight points from eight draws and four defeats as Bahlabane Ba Ntwa bagged just their third win of the campaign to close-in on the top half.

Mervin Sikhosana opened the deadlock before goals either side of the half from Monde Mphambaniso and Saziso Magawana capped off a fine day's work.

Black Leopards 1-1 Venda Football Academy

Black Leopards failed to get back to winning ways after their loss to Platinum City Rovers and were held to a 1-1 draw by Venda Football Academy in the Limpopo derby.

Lidoda Duvha were behind through Kgothatso Mariba, but displayed resilience to bounce back and claimed a vital point.

Hungry Lions 1-3 Magesi FC

Magesi FC jumped to second spot and one point behind the leaders Orbit College following a 3-1 victory against Hungry Lions.

The men of Clinton Larsen raced into a two-goal lead with Wonderboy Makhubu and Tshepo Matsamela on target, but Lions got one back through Raymond Daniels.

Magesi, though, ended up with the final say on the destination of the contest courtesy of Mcedi Vandala, as the loss drop Di Tau down to sixth spot.

Upington City 1-0 Milford Stallions

Upington City continued to surge up the table in the Motsepe Foundation Championship following a 1-0 win over the outfit in the bottom-two Milford Stallions on Sunday.

A solitary finish early in the second half from Bokang Mokwena from Keletso Makgalwa's assist was what separated the sides in the end.

University of Pretoria 2-1 Platinum City Rovers

University of Pretoria got their campaign back on track following a disappointing run of results and overcame Platinum City Rovers 2-1.

AmaTuks raced into a two-goal lead through Camagu Mdevulana as well as Athenkosi Tonisi, but the visitors looked to claw their back though AmaTuks weren't having it and snatched the points.
