PSL coach's head for Christmas lunch

KickOff has learned from whispers in the corridors that another club in the PSL is planning to fire their head coach just before Christmas.

Venda Football Club is expected to hire a new coach later this month if the current man at the helm does not improve the team's performance in their next two matches, which will be played before the holiday break.

The Limpopo club, currently coached by Vlad Heric, has given the Serbian an ultimatum to lift the team from the bottom of the table or risk packing his bags.

Their last two matches before the Christmas break will be against the rejuvenated Baroka FC away, followed by a fixture at home against Highbury.

"I don't think the coach will be retained in January if he fails to secure at least four points from the two matches. The club management is starting to panic," an insider revealed, speaking to KickOff.com.

"Plans to bring in new players have been put on hold until after the next two matches, as those games are crucial in determining Heric's future.

"They are looking for experienced players, as they believe there isn't enough time to develop new ones in the second half of the season.

"Everyone at the club is uncertain about whether the coach will stay or go this Christmas, which is why they think it's pointless to sign new players right now.

"Although the coach is well-known for saving troubled clubs from relegation, he has not been able to deliver sufficient results so far.

"Therefore, if he does not achieve positive outcomes in the next two games, they will definitely fire Vlad Heric."
