Mamelodi Sundowns became the final team to advance to the MTN8 semi-finals following a 1-0 win over Polokwane City in extra-time.
Sundowns had no new signings in the match day squad, but still put out a solid stall which included Peter Shalulile, Lucas Ribeiro notably, while City started Oswin Appollis on the bench.
Masandawana looked to assert dominance five minutes in and saw an overhead kick in the area by Ribeiro draw a finger-tip save from City goalkeeper Manuel Sapunga.
Shalulile was keen to go one better minutes later after running to the near side to connect with Aubrey Modiba's square pass, but he hit the post.
The Namibian again launched a threat before the midway quarter following a first-time lay-off by Terrence Mashego, but was again denied by the upright.
Rise and Shine nearly got the sucker punch a little later when a fast-pace counter-attack led to a goal-mouth scramble before Cole Alexander's header forced Denis Onyango to palm for a corner.

The frustrations for Masandawana continued in the second half, with Rise and Shine refusing to surrender but remained resolute in the defensive-third.
Masandawana refreshed the attacking stall later on and hauled captain Themba Zwane to come off the bench and replace Tashreeq Matthews.
However, the Rise and Shine outfit still applied a low-block that immensely frustrated Masandawana who struggled to fork out clear goal-scoring opportunities.
Sundowns instead were caught napping seven minutes before full-time when Onyango got a red-card for coming out of his area and handling a goal-bound shot from Hlayisi Chauke.
There was no substitute goalkeeper as Sundowns had used all three substitutions slots during regulation time, but on-field player in Mosa Lebusa took the gloves and kept goal for the home team.
The unusual change turn of events for the Brazilians didn't pose any trouble, but were able to hold ground to go into a spell of extra-time.
Lebusa didn't continue in goal though as reserve goalkeeper Jody February came on at start of extra-time to take goal, with Terrence Mashego sacrificed.
Masandawana eventually got ahead ten minutes in the added period when Thabang Matuludi looked to clear a teasing ball from Teboho Mokoena but unfortunately slotted into his own net.
The visitors were close to drawing level in the second spell of extra time through a close-range effort from Appollis after a one-two, but February parried him.
Sundowns contained the closing couple of minutes relatively well and secured the all-important win to advance to the semi-finals.
