On 28 September 2013, the Senegalese midfielder produced a Man-of-the-Match performance to guide Platinum Stars to a 3-1 penalty shootout win over Pirates in the same competition.
And almost a year later, this time in the Buccaneers colours, he’s hopeful that Pirates are going to emerge victorious.
“It’s gonna be a tough match for us and them (Chiefs). I want the same story like what happened there when I was with Platinum Stars and lifted the trophy with my (Pirates) teammates. I want to win trophies with Pirates,” Sarr says.
Sarr was part of Stars’ team that won the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout cups last season and ironically, both victories were over Pirates.
