Mthembu, who also played for The Brazilians and retired at Ajax Cape Town in 2005, was a member of the famous 'Operation Vat Alles' team that went on to win the Mandela Cup in 2001.

"I played with the likes of Neil Tovey, [Johannes] 'Bricks' Mudau, Trevor Mthimkhulu, Shane McGregor, Lucas Radebe, Gardner Seale, Doctor Khumalo, Steve Crowley, Wellington Manyathi, etc.

"Great team. We actually won the BP Top 8 versus Sundowns and I was on the bench."

The 46-year-old recently confirmed statements made by former teammates that certain players at Chiefs didn't pass to each other for various reasons.
