New Zealand are set to face-off with Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal in their final CAF Confederations Cup group clash in Saint Peterburg, Russia, this evening (17h00 SA time).
Instead, Brockie is currently in Durban, where he is set to contest the Nedbank Cup final, with his club facing Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium (20h15).
SuperSport defender Michael Boxall is set to be apart of the action, but Brockie miraculously failed to get the nod from English coach Anthony Hudson, despite his tally of 15 goals in 29 starts this season.
However, the 29-year-old, who has 49 All Whites caps to his name, feels he is better off contesting in a cup final than being made to tour the 2018 FIFA World Cup host country.
"It's always an honour to play for the national team, especially on a big occassion like what they're playing in at the moment," admitted the striker, who has been the subject of recent transfer speculation in the PSL.
"But, if I'm reaiistic with myself, I probably wouldn't be in the starting line-up over there, and I'll just be enjoying the sites of Russia.
"So it's nice to be able to be here [with SuperSport] and be able to fight for some silverware with the club, and hopefully retain the trophy."
Matsatsantsa could become the first team to retain the Nedbank Cup crown since Kaizer Chiefs back in 1982, when it was still known as the Mainstay Cup.
A team has yet to do it since the title sponsorship from Nedbank, which started 10 years ago, or the inception of the Premier Soccer League back in 1996.
