Sekhukhune United booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup following a 2-1 win over Motsepe Foundation Championship side Milford FC on Sunday afternoon.
Babina Noko named in new faces from the loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in Lloyd Kazapua, Alves Ngakosso-Oko, Linda Mntambo, Siphesihle Mkhize and Sipho Mbule, as the host surprisingly started danger-man Mthetheleli Mthiyane on the bench.
Milford, who exited at this stage of the tournament last season, looked to settle first through a cleverly-worked effort by Menzi Chilli, but he was parried by Kazapua.
Babina Noko carefully weathered the storm and broke the deadlock courtesy of a powerful finish from the centre of the six-yard area by skipper Mntambo.
Kazapua was put to work once more a little to the half-hour mark and pulled up to parry a speculative left-footed shot from Sifiso Mdluli.
Sekhukhune, though, raced further in front when Mntambo once again popped up in the box and dispatched Vuyo Letlapa's cutback.
Chilli halved the advantage a minute before the break through a well-taken finish from in and around the six-yard box.
Sekhukhune made a triple change at halftime in Ngoanamello Rammala for Vuyo Letlapa, Vusumzi Mncube for Mbule before Badra Ali Sangare filled in for Kazapua.
Mntambo went close to a hat-trick with a smart effort from the danger area following Keletso Makgalwa's cross, but he was courted.
The Championship boys didn't lose rhythm but managed to push the visitors in a spot of bother courtesy of attacking-midfielder Mvelo Zikakayo.
As the tempo dropped towards the final stages, Milford came on strong in the final passages and had Bulelani Sigomoshe's rasping shot from the area struck the upright.
The men of Lehlohonolo Seema managed to hold the forth ahead of the final whistle and secured a quarter-final meeting with the irrepressible Mamelodi Sundowns.
