The two PSL giants will bring down the PSL curtain in the season climax at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday in a repeat last year’s final, where Matsatsantsa emerged victorious.
The Buccaneers were also on the end of a 6-1 hammering against SuperSport in the Absa Premiership in November, a match after which Muhsin Ertugral resigned as head coach at the Soweto giants.
And while those statistics may make for bleak reading for the Ghost, Jonevret believes anything is possible when it comes to football, especially cup finals.
“Football is little like a chess. You start something that you have expected but suddenly you need to do something totally different, and that is football also. You have to change. You can't have and say this one is going to work ninety minutes, you have to change,” said Jonevret.
“Even if you know exactly how SuperSport used to play out there [on the field], but [circumstances change] out there, so I think for coaches so obsessed about what happened in the past two, three games; I don't think is very important.”
Tickets to this much-anticipated showdown now sold out and the PSL has urged fans lucky enough to land their hands on some to come early as they have planned a music concert prior to the opening ceremony before the game starts.
