BREAKING: Nedbank Cup QF dates & venues, Chiefs surprise!

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed the dates and venues of the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal fixtures, with an interesting venue for a Kaizer Chiefs match.

The announcement was made on Friday morning via the PSL's social media platforms and confirmed that the matches will be played on the weekend of 8 and 9 March.

Defending champions Orlando Pirates will be guests to SuperSport United on Saturday, 8 March at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The match is scheduled for 15:00.

Meanwhile, the second fixture of the day has thrown up a surprise twist as Stellenbosch FC will host Kaizer Chiefs at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.

Kick-off is at 18:00.

The move will come as a blow to Stellies fans and the general footballing community in the Western Cape, who would have been salivating at the prospect of yet another big game on their shores.

When the two teams met in the league recently, it was a sold-out affair at Athlone Stadium, but it appears that venue as well as DHL Stadium will not be available to host a soccer match next weekend.

Still on Saturday, last season's finalists Mamelodi Sundowns will take on the winner of the encounter between Sekhukhune United and Milford FC following Royal AM's expulsion from the competition.

That match will be played at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium at 20:00.

In the only Sunday fixture, the competition's surprise package Durban City will battle Marumo Gallants at Chatsworth Stadium, with kick-off at 15:00.
