This time around, Galaxy were on the receiving end of the defeat as goals from Thalente Mbatha and Relebohile Mofokeng were enough to seal the three points for the visitors at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday.
Makhaula was awarded the Man of the Match award for a solid shift in the middle of the park in what was his 13th appearance of the season.
"First of all, I would say I would like to congratulate the technical team for preparing us well and for giving us the instructions [on] what to do on the field.
"It was a good effort from the guys, they really worked hard. It was not a one-man Man of the Match, I think all of us deserved the Man of the Match.
"The first half, we had them and I think they realised. They started pressing us.
"What the coach told us is that we need to calm down and play our football. I think that really worked for us.
"Playing cool and playing calm helped us find space to find Rele [Mofokeng] and [Mohau] Nkota, then we created so many chances," said the former AmaZulu FC star.
