Absa Premiership match report Mamelodi Sundowns v Baroka FC 05 December 2017

Sundowns were awarded a penalty after just two minutes when Sibusiso Vilakazi was brought down. Motjeka Madisha took over penalty duties and calmly slotted home the spot-kick.

The goal seemed to sparked Baroka into life as they started seeing more of the ball, although they were let down by their final pass.

However, it was Sundowns who got the next goal in the 28th minute through Themba Zwane, who turned home Percy Tau's cross at the far post.

Two minutes later, it was nearly 3-0 as Tau cut inside before seeing his strike rattle the upright with Virgil Vries well beaten.

Sundowns were dealt a blow with 10 minutes remaining in the half when Bangaly Soumahoro was forced off with an injury. He was replaced by Wayne Arendse.

The change did not have any effect on the home side, who managed to see out the final stages of the first stanza with relative ease.

Sundowns continued from where the left off in the first half, as Tau registered his name on the score-sheet with a composed finish from 12 yards out.

The visitors responded by introducing Mpho Kgaswane for Goodman Mosele in the 54th minute as they looked to beef up the midfield.

Pitso Mosimane opted for a change of his own after 68 minutes as George Lebese replaced Vilakazi.

Sundowns continued to dominate and they eventually bagged a fourth goal on 71 minutes as Tau grabbed his second goal of the encounter by converting Khama Billiat's cross.

Six minutes later, Baroka had a rare sight at goal but Denis Onyango was well placed to deny Punch Masenamela.

That proved to be the final chance of the game as Sundowns ran out deserved 4-0 winners on the night.
