Cape Town City moved up to sixth in the Betway Premiership standings after a 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows on Wednesday evening.
The Citizens made three changes from their defeat against TS Galaxy, as they were boosted by the return of Haashim Domingo, Tshegofatso Nyama and Thamsanqa Mkhize.
Arrows, meanwhile, were virtually unchanged from their heavy loss against Mamelodi Sundowns, as Sibusiso Sibeko was the only new face in the line-up.
Arrows drew first blood on 15 minutes after Bongani Cele fired home a close-range effort after he combined with Nduduzo Sibiya.
Muhsin Ertugral's charges were fired up, as they pressurized Abafana Bes'thende but they were constantly repelled.
City had the momentum towards the end of the first stanza but they could not find spaces to exploit in the Arrows' defence, who were compact at the back and went to the break with a narrow lead.
However, The Citizens had a perfect start in the second stanza after Nyama pulled them level with a great strike from a direct free-kick.
As the game opened up towards the hour-mark, Gabriel Amato threatened for City with a strike from the edge of the box that was smothered by goalkeeper Ismail Watenga.
However, neither side could get the momentum in the last 20 minutes, with chances few and far between.
City eventually introduced the fresh legs of Heaven Sereets and Kamohelo Mokotjo, in places of Gonzalez and Amato for fresh legs.
And the game came to life again towards the end as Fasika Idumba had a big chance for the hosts with a close-range header that sailed over the crossbar.
The sides shared the spoils in the end, with a point taking Ertugral's men up to sixth on the log.
