Faty went down on the touchline in Saturday’s draw with Chippa United, causing some panic considering that he had also collapsed at training in December in mysterious circumstances leading to a long lay-off.
After standing up and returning to the field, the Burundian was substituted minutes later as a precautionary measure during the first half of that encounter.
He has not been selected for tonight’s game away at Mpumalanga Black Aces.
“This is a precautionary measure,” Wits CEO Jose Ferreira tells snl24.com/kickoff. “The club is now medically re-assessing the situation and for now there is no physical activity for him.
“We will be guided by what comes out of the re-assessment. There is not much else to say now.”
Faty had sat out three months after initially collapsing during a friendly match in December and then spending time in hospital afterwards.
Upon his return he scored a brace against SuperSport United a week ago and was on Saturday playing in his second match since returning.
