Chiefs v Sundowns, it's on again!

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are set to lock horns again in what will be a behind-closed-doors friendly match during the FIFA international break, as confirmed by coach Nasreddine Nabi.

The two South African powerhouses went toe-to-toe at a sold-out FNB Stadium on Saturday – the first time a fixture, besides the Soweto Derby, has sold out at the 2010 World Cup final venue.

Sundowns walked away 2-1 winners in a match marred by controversial calls, including one that has dominated the headlines for several days in the aftermath.

Chiefs, though, may have their next chance to attain some level of revenge as Nabi confirmed that that the two teams are set to meet once more, albeit this time three points will not be on the line.

"We have scheduled some friendly games and among the teams that we are going to face, we also have Sundowns," Nabi told journalists after the match at the Calabash.

It is not yet clear where and on what date the fixture will take place.

The Soweto giants are aiming to keep their players sharp during the break and both coaches expressed their bafflement at the stoppage, considering that the league season already started more than a month later than normal.

"I don't understand why the league stopped after three games. We started on the 16th [14th] of September and we only played three games, and we had to stop again," added the Tunisian-Belgian.

Meanwhile, Manqoba Mngqithi, whose side will only return to league action on 27 October, echoed similar sentiments.

"We'll try to have some friendly matches in-between. It's a bit unfortunate because we did think it would help us to play in the week of the MTN8 final to alleviate pressure on our side, but unfortunately, it didn't happen," he said.

"But we also use these FIFA breaks to give our players a little bit of a breather because we know that the schedule ahead is going to be tough, but we'll have to play at least two friendlies."
