Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Edwin Gyimah has been given a chance to impress in training by a PSL club in Johannesburg.
Ghanian defensive midfielder Edwin Gyimah is training with the Lions of the North with the hope of landing himself a deal. Another player training with Highlands is veteran defender Vuyo Mere.
Like Mere, the 28-year-old Gyimah was released by Bidvest Wits at the end of the 2018/19 season after making only five appearances for the Clever Boys.
Gyimah joined Wits from Swedish second-tier side Helsingborgs IF in January 2018, but failed to make an impact at the club.
Other South African clubs that the hard-tackling Gyimah played for are Supersport United and Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Ex-Chippa United and Golden Arrows defensive midfielder Sandile Zuke is also being assessed by head coach Owen Da Gama.
Last week Limbikani Mzava, Makhehleni Makhaula, Thela Ngobeni, Wayde Jooste, Marks Munyai and Rodney Ramagalela were unveiled as the club's new players.
