Shabalala, alongside Sabelo Radebe, is one of Chiefs' DStv Disk Challenge stars who have been selected to take part in the newly-formed DStv Compact Cup later this month.
The youngster has impressed in the reserve ranks for the Amakhosi in recent times, even scoring a hat-trick in a recent win over Royal AM, and featured on the bench for the senior team against Sekhukhune United last month.
"I was happy to be named man of the match and I am also pleased to be selected for the DStv Compact Cup, which means that I simply have to up my game," the South Africa U-17 youth international added.
"This performance is definitely a boost to my confidence before the DStv Compact Cup. Getting voted in shows that I am playing good football and that people love seeing me play. I will keep on fighting and doing the right things."
