Providing an answer to a question that has been on many football fans' lips, Premier Soccer League (PSL) Chairman, Dr. Irvin Khoza, has announced the prize money for the 2024/25 Betway Premiership champions.
It has now been confirmed that whichever team wins the league come end of May 2025 will receive a whopping R20 million.
The announcement was made in a press conference at PSL's Parktown offices in Johannesburg on Wednesday, where Khoza had members of the media for an audience.
"The winner of the Betway Premiership, number one position, [will receive] R20 million," the Chairman announced.

The League boss confirmed in July that South Africa's top-flight division would be called the Betway Premiership after sealing a three-year sponsorship deal with Betway.
The R20 million prize is double the R10 million prize money offered to the league winners by MultiChoice, who sponsored the league under the banner of 'DStv Premiership' from 2020 to 2024.
However, the prize money then rose to R15 million.
The prize money announcement comes after months of confusion surrounding the league, a delay in the starting of the league season, and curiosity regarding the league trophy, which was yet to be unveiled.
"But also, something important that we did not talk about is the trophy. The trophy will take a very unique journey because it's a trophy with a lot of history, a lot of culture around it," Khoza added.

Earlier this year, DStv surprisingly pulled the plug on their R800 million sponsorship per season of Mzansi's elite division, which included naming rights, with MultiChoice citing financial constraints.
MultiChoice had taken over from Absa, who sponsored the league from 2007 to 2020 under the banner of the Absa Premiership.
Currently, Orlando Pirates are in pole position to clinch the title with seven straight wins from seven matches.
However, it's still early days, with Mamelodi Sundowns hot on their heels with five victories from six fixtures and a game in hand.
