PSL transfer news: Golden Arrows set to sign ex-Swallows defender Giulio Giuricich

The former Moroka Swallows defender has been on trial at the PSL returnees, having failed an assessment with Mamelodi Sundowns earlier in the season.

Giuricich made five League starts for the Dube Birds last term.

"Yes, we have made a decision and it looks very likely that we are going to sign him," Larsen tells snl24.com/kickoff of the 25-year-old, who has campaigned in Italy's lower leagues.

"He's a player that comes with a lot of versatility and experience. He has played throughout the ranks in Italy and he can play left-back, center-half and as a holding midfielder.

"Right now we are a little bit thin and we are relying a lot on Multichoice Diski Challenge [players] to cover certain positions and we need a little bit more experience in certain areas.

"He will really add to that so we hope to conclude it soon. From my side it just looks like a formality."

Giuricich was in the stands when Arrows beat Polokwane City 1-0 at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday in Larsen's first game in charge of the Durban-based outfit following his recent exit from Bloemfontein Celtic.

Abafana Bes'thende, who end 2015 in sixth place on the League table, will return to training on December 27 ahead of their next clash with Free State Stars at Goble Park on January 9.
