The longest-serving coaches among current DStv Premiership teams

The 2022/23 DStv Premiership season is set to get underway in a season that will see only three sets of coaches take to the pitch with more than a year of service at the current club.

Stellenbosch FC coach Steve Barker is chief among these after passing the five-year anniversary of his appointment at the start of July, dating back to a time when the club was still in the National First Division.

The coaching duo of Manqoba Mngqithi and Rhulani Mokwena are next best with just under two years at the helm of Masandawana since taking the reins from Pitso Mosimane in 2020.

That leaves Cape Town City's Eric Tinkler, who is in the role with the Citizens for a second time, as the only coach in his current position for more than a year, having held his post since May last year.

It is worth noting that the aformentioned mentioned clubs occupied three of the top four spots in the league table last season, with Sundowns crowned champions ahead of City, and Stellies ending fourth, level with third-placed Royal AM on points.
