Ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender Rodney 'Danger' Thobejane has been very impressed with the work of head coach Ernst Middendorp since his return to club.
Middendorp's style of play has been criticised by a section of football fans who call his direct methods of finding goals 'javelin football'.
But Thobejane, a member of the famous 'Operation Teka Hinkwaso' or 'Vat Alles' back in 2001, says there is no need to fix what is not broken.

"I must say to be honest I'm so impressed, especially with the coach Middendorp," Thobejane tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"I think since he was there he tried to changed a lot of things whereby most of the players were there but couldn't play the way Middendorp wanted.
"He has changed them, because since the past three seasons the same players were playing there but they never challenged for the league.

"They signed good players in terms of strikers, and the defence as well because they normally say defence wins championships. If I check the previous games that they've played, if they scored first it becomes difficult for the opposition to score you see. I think that is why they are on top of the log.
"I would say I am happy with the kind of football Chiefs is playing because you know sometimes... yes it's our culture to maybe show those skills and so forth.. but I think if you check the way Chiefs is now playing it has changed altogether.
"I mean we don't look at the way players are displaying their skills, we are looking at how we collect points, and the way he is playing Middendorp that is why he is in position number one, because the players were able to understand his style of play very quickly.

"People only want to see that entertaining football and entertaining football sometimes... you can see teams like Chippa United are playing very good football but in the end the results are not there.
"I think the most important thing is results, irrespective of how you play. So according to me, Middendorp's style of play is suitable for Kaizer Chiefs."
