Banyana Banyana suffered a 3-2 defeat to Serbia in an international friendly on Monday afternoon.
South Africa were last in action at the Turkish Women's Cup, where they defeated Uzbekistan and drew with Slovenia, while Serbia thrashed Bosnia-Herzgovina 6-0 a few days ago.
The Serbians made their intentions known early after taking the lead after just eight minutes, with Banyana unable to sort themselves out defensively.
While Banyana were unable to carve out a chance, Serbia managed to score twice in six minutes thanks to goals from Milica Mijatovic and Jovana Damnjanovic.
Desiree Ellis' charges did give themselves some hope in the 30th minute when Hildah Magaia found the back of the net, just moments after going close with another chance.

Banyana looked a much more solid side in the second half, but they had to wait until the 79th minute for the second goal when Jermaine Seoposenwe fired home from close range.
There would be no third goal for the South African champions, as the European nation held on to claim the victory on the day.
Banyana will now look forward to their second World Cup appearance in July, with Ellis' charges being drawn in Group G against Sweden, Italy and Argentina.
