Frying pan into the fire for Chiefs flop

From failing to score throughout the season he spent at Kaizer Chiefs, Efmamjjasond Gonzalez's troubles have worsened in Bolivia.

Gonzalez's relegation from the Bolivian Primera Division with Real Santa Cruz has now been confirmed after their latest defeat, which came with their head coach Armando Ibanez resigning after two games in charge.

Ibanez was the fourth coach that he has played under since returning to Real in June.

With three games to play, Real can no longer move off bottom place with 23 points in the accumulated standings of the Bolivian top league which determine relegation.

Their Santa Cruz neighbours Royal Pari are on 33 points and likely to get into the promotion/relegation play-offs.

For Gonzalez, if what he went through while on loan at Chiefs was bad, then he has now had it worse at Real, who must now play in the unfashionable second tier of the weakest football-playing country in CONMEBOL.

The towering striker failed to score all season at Naturena, where he got 454 minutes (13 appearances).

Amakhosi finished down in 10th place in the bottom half, just six points ahead of the team that went into the relegation/promotion play-offs.

His personal contribution back at Real has been better with six goals in 19 appearances, but it will count for nothing with the club relegated.

The Colombian will be forced to consider other options.
