The former Bucs midfielder wore the armband as VTM produced one of the best performances against Centre Chiefs in the sold-out VTM Arena Stadium.

The match was also attended to by former Orlando Pirates players including Phenyo Mongalo, Oupa Manyisa and Brighton Mhlongo.

VTM now need to win their next two remaining games to qualify for the Botswana Premier League next season.

"Credit should go to my teammates. They did the job today.

"It's one step at a time. We can only celebrate after our last match," Myeni said post-match.

VTM who also have South African defender Rooi Mahamutsa in their ranks are currently leading the Botswana First Division standings with 40 points after 20 matches.

Meanwhile, VTM boss Vincent Mafuta has not ruled out possibility of bringing Oupa Manyisa to his club next season in an ambassadorial role.

"They were just here to give the boys motivation. You can see how the fans love them here. It's football, you never know," Mafuta told KickOff.
