"The only issue is Pitso’s skin colour"

Pitso Mosimane has been described as the perfect candidate for the Super Eagles job following reports linking the Al Ahli Saudi FC coach with the job.

Mosimane is out of contract at the end of the season in Saudi Arabia where he has guided Al Ahli to promotion and within two wins of lifting the second-tier league title.

Reports from Saudi Arabia state that Mosimane contacted the club's decision makers about his contract but is still yet to get any response giving a hint that they are already looking elsewhere for their 15th coach in the last five years.

In the meanwhile, his name is amongst a shortlist being considered to take over from Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro.

"Pitso is an inspiration to all of us here on the continent," says retired Nigerian footballer Abayomi Adebayo who played for Tembisa Classic and Bay United amongst several teams.

Pitso Mosimane now has his eyes on the Saudi title

"He is the same boat as the late Stephen Keshi because he was also able to deliver on the big stage.

"I know that Pitso will not disappoint in that Super Eagles even though he is black.

"Pitso can do a better job than whoever else is being considered for the job.

"The only issue is Pitso's skin colour for those involved with hiring otherwise this is his job.

"We need to have our own people believing in their own instead of getting white all the time.

"Just give this job to Pitso," says Adebayo.

"It gives me thrills to hear that a coach like Pitso is being linked with the Super Eagles and I just hope the Nigeria Football Federation does the right thing and appoint him.

"I have absolutely no doubts in Pitso's coaching credentials because he is a serial winner who has coached the biggest club in Africa Al Ahly and has been in charge of Bafana Bafana before so he knows the national team space very well.

"The Super Eagles will not go wrong in appointing Pitso as the head coach.

"The job will BE much easier for him because most of the players in the national team are in the top leagues abroad.

"This will not be a difficult job for him, and I think he will definitely be successful for sure.

"I think as Africans we need to start giving our black coaches the respect that they deserve.

"Pitso has achieved way more than all the other white coaches who are being considered for the job.

"The challenge is our administrators don't have any belief in our own black people and will rather just appoint a white man from Europe just because of the colour of his skin.

"There is nothing that most of these white coaches can do better than the black coaches.

 Mosimane

"In Africa, we are always at the skin colour first before we do things and that is our biggest downfall.

"Cameroon has done well with Rigobert Song so I don't see any reason why we shouldn't give someone like Pitso that Super Eagles.

"Pitso deserves to be given more respect as the white coaches because he has earned it.

"The administrators tend to be fooled by the colour of the skin, yet black coaches can do a better job.

"A black coach will do it with real passion because they identify with the stage where they are working," says Adebayo.
