Glasgow Celtic FC have snapped up Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose

The Nigeria international centre-back has signed a three year deal worth about £1.5 Million for the Glasgow club, from modest Israeli club MS Ashdod.

Efe was one three last minute purchases made by Celtics manager Neil Lennon before the summer transfer window closed last night as the Parkhead club also signed striker Nicolas ‘Miku’ Fedor and back-up keeper Lubos Kamenar on season long loans from Getafe and Nantes respectively.

Efe was full of smiles as he was unveiled to the fans on Friday. He told the BBC: "Today is one of the happiest days of my life, signing for one of the biggest clubs in the world - a club I have known about since I was young."

The versatile defender who can also play as a holding midfielder has also played for Bayelsa United and Kaduna United in the Nigeria Premier League.
