You won't often see words of advice crossing over from the Orlando Pirates camp past the gates of Naturena, or vice versa, but a former Buccaneers forward has dished out wisdom to Mduduzi Shabalala.
Shabalala has been one of few bright prospects in what has turned into a disastrous season for Chiefs, who sit in eighth spot on the Betway Premiership log.
Worryingly, however, is that the 21-year-old has not found the back of the net since netting against Chippa United in December, a strike that was voted PSL Goal of the Month.

In between then and now, he has had a plethora of chances, and like many of Amakhosi's attackers, failed to convert.
A case in point was a 0-0 draw against Cape Town City, which may have easily ended 5-0 in the home side's favour were it not for the habit of leaving scoring boots at home.
In that match, 'Mdu or Die' came one-on-one against with Darren Keet, only to fail to hit the target.
Speaking on SuperSport TV's ExtraTime, Phumudzo Manenzhe said the player deserved some credit.
"I think we need to also give Shabalala his credit to say he was not gifted the ball, he went hunting for the ball," he offered.
"The one thing I thought he could have done better was try and open up his body a little bit more to then give himself an opportunity to far post or near post. That would have given him a better angle to try and finish.
"But for the good work he does, we need to give credit to forwards that go hunting for the ball and win the ball back.
There was no better opportunity for Mdu Shabalala here ??

"I give a lot of credit to someone like Peter Shalulile or Evidence Makgopa - they go hunting for the ball. They look for the ball and assist the team in defending from the top.

"Shabalala did that there and was unlucky to not get the goal," said Manenzhe.
Notably, the Soweto giants are ranked seventh among the top-scoring teams in the league, with 22 goals from 22 matches thus far.
