Pitso singles out PSL coach that can make it abroad

With a career trajectory higher than most South Africans who have coached in the PSL, Pitso Mosimane has revealed which other local coach can make it abroad.

Mosimane was always touted as the next big South African coach from the early 200s during his time at SuperSport United.

He was prepared by SAFA to stand toe-to-toe with the best in the world after being appointed assistant coach of Bafana Bafana and learnt from Carlos Alberto Parreira for the 2010 World Cup project.

It is perhaps no coincidence the 59-year-old's career reached greater heights shortly after he left Bafana to join Mamelodi Sundowns.

In a period of seven-and-half years, 'Jingles' had already won multiple trophies, including the league title a record five times and the CAF Champions League.

He has reached new heights since joining and leaving Al Ahly, with his highlight being two coaching stints in the Saudi Pro League, where he came up against some of the best players and coaches in the world.

Mosimane has singled out SuperSport tactician Gavin Hunt as a coach in the PSL who has the capacity to make it abroad.

"I just believe in working hard and preparation and if you work hard and prepare, you need to know what the world is doing," Mosimane said on The Dan Corder Show on eNCA.

"I need to give credit to the PSL, they prepared me. Without them, I would not be where I am. I played against good opponents, the Gavin Hunts of this world. I mean, the guy has won four (league titles) in the PSL.

"I believe he could have been ahead of me, but you know how life is, chances come to you and you must take it. But I have big respect for somebody like him," Mosimane added.

The outspoken coach is back in the country after he parted ways with Iranian side Esteghlal for alleged breach of contract over salary payments.
