Banyana Banyana star Thembi Kgatlana helps LaLiga go local

With Thembi Kgatlana flying her country's flag high in Spain, she was one of the first to reveal LaLiga's new South African-inspired lifestyle collection.

The story

It is unfortunate that only a few South Africans ply their trade in Spain. However, whatever is lacking in that regard, Kgatlana makes up for it as she's is in the books of Atletico Madrid, a giant club.

Recently, the striker took to her Instagram to show a glimpse of the Spanish topflight's new clothing range which dropped on Mzansi shoes.

An ambassador

While we cannot confirm if she is an official ambassador of the division, we can confirm that she did a little promo for them recently. The goal-poacher posted a picture of the merch, captioned with: "Hey what's good? Check out this new LaLiga African Lifestyle Collection.

"It is now available at the LaLiga Gallery in Fourways Mall. Local is lekker!"

Making a mark at the very top

The pacy forward has become an icon in her country of birth as she has been an incredible part of Bayana Banyana's success over the years, despite being just 25-years-old.

At Atleti, she's only one of two Africans in the team alongside Rasheedat Ajibade from Nigeria - thus making her representation even more important in the Colchoneros.

Did you know?

Some of the Mzansi's womens' stars who've represented Spanish clubs include Ode Fulutudilu, Jermaine Seoposenwe, Amanda Mthandi and Nothando Vilakazi.

Your thoughts, please?
