Banyana Banyana stars who are always camera ready

A number of Banyana Banyana stars have recently collaborated with a local brand for a stunning photoshoot. Check it out!  

What Happened?

The South Africa women's team broke their long-standing curse - on their sixth attempt - to win the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), edging past host nation Morocco 2-1 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

Following their victory, the star-studded team were welcomed home at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to a lovely reception where they received multiple a number of bonuses in the form of at least R23 million.  

The shining light of South Africa also recently got a gift from UNISA, the biggest tertiary institution in the country, who will make available a special bursary program for the 23 players in accordance with the universities' admission policies. 

Mamelodi Sundowns quartet Thalea Smidt, Andile Dlamini and Melinda Kgadiete, and Bambanani Mbane recently took some time away from the football pitch to delve into the fashion world.  

In a recent post on the House of Nala Instagram, the four players were pictured in a photoshoot following their success on the pitch.

The goal of the African-based clothing label is to usually provide luxury clothing that inspires and represents the continent. While the outfits are not necessarily traditionally African, the brand have seemingly delivered the sauce as the aforementioned trio look dapper in their drip. 

Did you know?    

The Gauteng's department of sports, arts and culture also set aside R3.2 million for Banyana Banyana and the development of women's football in the province.
