Having recently reached a half-a-billion followers on Instagram, Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has unveiled his new high-end watch line, including a timepiece with 26 baguette diamonds. Here's a look.
The story
While he now might be clubless after parting ways with Manchester United on Tuesday, everything else seems to be plain sailing for Ronaldo, as he announced a new watch range in collaboration with American luxury jewelry and wristwatch retailer Jacob Co on the same day as his exit from Old Trafford.
The range has two collections; Heart of CR7 and Flight of CR7, which feature four wristwatches co-designed with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

According to Jacob Co on Instagram, "The Jacob Co X CR7 Epic X Heart of CR7 is available in steel with a green flange, crown, caseback and strap. The rose gold edition, Jacob Co X CR7 Epic X Flight of CR7, features a red theme. Both are available with a smooth bezel, or set with 26 baguette diamonds." These watches range from $28 000 (483 322) to $145 000 (R2.5 million).
The Man Utd saga
It is quite interesting how Ronaldo has spent a large part of 2022/23 marred in controversy and even more so in the last few weeks after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan. The 37-year-old began the campaign under a cloud of doubt, as it was widely reported that he wanted to leave Manchester United before the season had in search of UEFA Champions League football.
The desired move didn't pan out and he remained at Old Trafford, where he was then reduced to a substitute role for the most part, with manager Erik ten Hag preferring the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial up front ahead of the veteran star.
As seen over the last week, this has culminated in a huge fallout between Ronaldo and the club, and the two parties have parted ways by mutual consent in the midst of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It will be interesting to see which club he will join next, as he has been linked with sides in Australia, the Middle East, and the United States.
