Manchester City unveil new 2021/22 home kit

Manchester City have unveiled their new PUMA home kit for the 2021/22 season, and it is inspired by one of the greatest moments in the club's history.

According to the club's official website, the new kit harks to Sergio Aguero's iconic 93rd-minute goal on the final day of the 2011/12 season, which saw the club clinch their first-ever Premier League title.

That goal symbolises a turning point in the club's history as that season was the beginning of a new era that saw City go on to win four more league titles, in the 2013/14, 2017/18, 2018/19, and 2020/21 seasons.

Former Citizens defender Micah Richards is a fan of the club's new playing strip, and believes that the Aguero goal was something so special he doubts anything like it could ever be repeated.

"Witnessing that moment is something I will never forget. When the goal went in, we knew we had just seen greatness, something special," he told the club's official website.

"The league was hanging in the balance and then to secure it in the final minute, in that fashion, I don't think will ever be replicated.

"The new kit is a perfect tribute to one of the greatest moments in City's history."

The sky-blue jersey is harmonised with matching shorts along with hooped socks to complete the look.

The kit combines 100% recycled polyester with state-of-the-art PUMA dryCELL thermoregulation technology to ensure a flexible fit and mobility that will keep the players dry and comfortable.
