Bloemfontein Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco cools talk of Veselin Jelusic's departure

Speculation has been rife that the Serbian tactician could depart the Free State-based outfit before the start of the new season, pending the club's sale.

An informant recently told this website that Jelusic could walk after his salary was short-paid over the past two months.

Reports surfaced on Thursday suggesting Jelusic had indeed quit, but Phunya Sele Sele's top official Konco has since denied any knowledge of their mentor's resignation.

"Nothing from our side," Konco told snl24.com/kickoff upon being asked if the coach has resigned, while he also disputed claims that there were issues with the technical staff's remuneration.

"There's no such," he added.

Asked whether there was any progress with regards to the proposed sale of the club, Konco simply responded: "Nothing yet."

Jelusic's agent Ivica Stankovic, meanwhile, also confirmed that his client has not tendered his resignation, and they still await updates over the club's next move.

The situation in Bloemfontein will be closely monitored over the coming days as the Siwelele faithful wait in anticipation to learn the fate of their beloved club.
