The Bafana captain also won the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award, while Mokoena chipped in with two goals from a deep-lying midfield role.

Meanwhile, the two finalists, Ivory Coast and Nigeria, each have three players in the selection, namely Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong and Ademola Lookman for the Super Eagles, and Ghislan Konan, Jean Michael Seri and Franck Kessie for the Elephants.

DR Congo, who had to settle for a fourth-place finish at the tournament after losing to Bafana in the third-place playoff, have two inclusions in the XI, namely their captain Chancel Mbemba and Brentford star Yoane Wissa.
