A former South African star now claims that Mamelodi Sundowns will have little difficulty overcoming Pyramids FC in the CAF Champions League final.
Sundowns have finally ended their semi-final curse in the Champions League, progressing to this year’s final after back-to-back exits at that stage in 2023 and 2024.
Standing in their way were the defending champions, Al Ahly, who were eliminated on the away goals rule after the two-legged tie ended 1-1 on aggregate.

Masandawana will now face another Egyptian side, Pyramids FC, in the final after they knocked out Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals.
According to Arabic publication Al-Hayat TV, former Sundowns attacker Lebogang Mokoena believes his old club will not struggle to beat their opponents in the final.
Mokoena told Al-Hayat TV: "The expectations are in Sundowns’ favour, especially since they previously played a final against Al Ahly.
"The first match will be in South Africa, and I expect Pyramids to defend strongly, but Sundowns has the tools to break this defensive block. I believe Sundowns will easily overcome Pyramids.
"I've followed many players at Egyptian clubs, and there are many more names I could mention, but the one player who always catches my attention is Akram Tawfik.
"He's an irreplaceable player, young, very strong, and has a promising future. He possesses great energy and great physical fitness, which enables him to perform exceptionally well. He's a very important player for the Egyptian national team."
