CAF has jumped to president Patrice Motsepe's defence after controversial claims were made following Bafana Bafana's recent match against Benin.
A spectator known as Reverand Ntuthuko Nkosi, who is said to have attended the game at the Moses Mabhida Stadium last weekend, claimed to have been invited to a box suite "next to the Presidential Suite" in which Motsepe was supposedly in, and alleged that the CAF president had requested that the Palestinian attire Nkosi had on be taken off.

Nkosi, in a statement on social media, said that he attended the match wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh (a chequered black and white scarf) around his neck while carrying a Palestinian flag.
Israel and Palestine are involved in an ongoing conflict, and the violence and loss of life taking place in the region has grasped the attention of the entire world.
"CAF President Mr Patrice Motsepe was also present at the match and he signalled to the Suite owner to ask me to remove my Keffiyeh and not to wave the Palestinian Flag," Nkosi wrote in a statement that was seen on social media.
"He left and a few minutes later five security guards dressed in full black approached me in person at the Suite. They asked me to hand over the Palestinian Flag and told me that I can collect the flag from the Security Office after the game."
Nkosi added that after the South African Police Services got involved, he was allegedly instructed to take his flag and leave the stadium.
The organisation has, however, jumped to the defence of its president, with communications director Lux September responding to a social media post about the statement by insisting that Motsepe was not even in attendance at Bafana's clash with Benin.
"I can confirm that Dr Patrice Motsepe was chairing a #CAF Executive Committee meeting in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire and was NOT in SA or at Moses Mabhida on 18 Nov," September wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
"I'm therefore surprised to see these false statements.
"The age of fake news! (And he has a pic to prove it).
"... Dr Patrice Motsepe was chairing an CAF Executive Committee meeting in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire on 18 November.
"It's humanly impossible for him to be in two countries at the same time."
