Nigeria head coach hands in 'resignation'

Nigeria head coach Finidi George has reportedly has handed in his resignation after only two matches in charge.

George was only appointed in February and has only taken charge of two matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Former Super Eagles media officer claimed on social media that George has handed in his resignation.

The reports come days after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced a foreign coach would be appointed to help George after the slow start to the World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles drew 1-1 with South Africa in Uyo last week before they lost to Benin, who are coach by former Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr.

However, it seems the NFF will be looking for a new head coach if the latest reports are anything to go by.
