'We will have to dig deep against Bafana'

Lesotho's national team coach says his side will have to dig deep when they meet Bafana Bafana on Friday.

Neighbours South Africa and Lesotho will meet on matchday five of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers later this week at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The last two meetings between the teams ended in a 0-0 draw and a 4-0 victory for South Africa, with the first fixture being an international friendly, while the latter was a COSAFA Cup clash.

Lesotho boss Leslie Notsi has been very open about the respect he has for Bafana boss Hugo Broos, as he told CAFOnline last week that the Belgian is a one-of-a-kind manager on the continent.

Now, just days before the two teams lock horns, Notsi believes that Lesotho will have to give it all they've got.

"I think this is a match that is highly anticipated by the supporters, as you know we are neighbouring countries, so it's not usual that we play often, and people are looking forward to the game, which we believe is going to be a very great encounter," Notsi told CAFOnline

"Playing one of the best teams in our region and in Africa as a whole, having some of the most talented players with one of the shrewdest coaches around, so it's going to be a very tough encounter which we believe we have to dig deep to put up a very good competitive game."

Lesotho currently sit on five points after four qualifying matches. South Africa, on the other hand, have seven points from four games.

Kick-off at Peter Mokaba Stadium will be at 6pm on Friday, 21 March.
