REPORT: Chiefs target slapped with 'R7 million price tag'

According to reports from the continent, a Kaizer Chiefs transfer target has been slapped with a $386 000 (R7 million) price tag amid growing interest in his signature.

Azam FC star Feisal Salum has been linked with a move to South Africa for the past two transfer windows.

Last year, it was reported that Mamelodi Sundowns were keen to sign the midfielder, but interest soon faded, with Chiefs seemingly taking the lead in trying to secure the player.

Clubs in North Africa have also been linked with the Tanzania international, who was initially believed to have refused to sign a new deal at the club in January 2024.

Last week, Azam FC media spokesperson Hasheem Ibwe told SoccerLaduma that Salum has 17 months left on his contract, and the Tanzanian outfit are adamant about keeping him at the club.

However, a new report by AfricaFootUnited now claims that Chiefs have relaunched negotiations with Azam over Salum's potential transfer at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The aforementioned publication report that Amakhosi are yet to make a formal offer for the 27-year-old, but they have now been informed that it will take a fee of around $386,000 (R7 million) to secure their prized asset.

Furthermore, the report claims that Chiefs boss Nasreddine Nabi is campaigning internally at Naturena for the club to complete the transfer.

According to Flashscore, Salum has already registered four goals in 12 Tanzanian Premier League appearances so far this season.

Notably, Salum is not the only Azam player to be linked with the Soweto giants, as Zimbabwe international striker Prince Dube has also reportedly piqued Chiefs' interest.
