Zamalek have confirmed that they are in talks with a former Real Madrid star about joining the club.
Veteran defender Sergio Ramos remains a free agent after parting ways with Sevilla at the end of last season.
Reports surfaced in Egypt this week claiming the CAF Confederation Cup champions would be keen, with the son of Zamalek vice president Ali Hisham Nasr confirming the reports.

"The negotiations with Ramos are true news. I was a player in Zamalek for 25 years. The Whites are a big club with a great reputation outside Egypt more than inside it, and they deserve their place more than those who are in it," Nasr told OnTime Sports.
"The idea of contracting with Ramos came, especially since he is a free agent, and the idea in my mind is based on the economic principle and how we can gain the greatest benefit from contracting with him, not just from the football benefit.
"Ramos is a player that any club in the world would wish for, but in light of the circumstances at Zamalek, I am thinking about how to help the club and provide the greatest income for Zamalek in light of the financial burden.
"I spoke with Zaalouk, the players' agent, who is a friend of mine, after consultations with the club's officials. I do not have a major role or an official assignment from Zamalek.
"I am just a fan, and whether I am inside or outside the club, I like to help with everything I have. I have some relationships and trust from people that I can use and employ in the right place and benefit the club.
"There has been communication with the agents close to the player, but everything is suspended due to the focus on the African Super Cup match."
