Bayern legend calls for Tuchel to sacked before Arsenal game

A Bayern Munich legend has called for manager Thomas Tuchel to be sacked before Tuesday's UEFA Champions League tie against Arsenal.

The Bavarians' disappointing Bundesliga campaign continued after throwing a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Heidenheim on Saturday afternoon.

The Champions League remains Bayern's only realistic hope of wining a trophy this season, but they come up against an Arsenal side in tremendous form in the Premier League.

Former Bayern star Lothar Matthaus feels the chemistry in the team is gone between the coach and the players.

"There's always something that can be saved, but I think the atmosphere is broken between Thomas Tuchel and the team.

"If you lead 2-0 in Heidenheim, then you can't let the points be taken away - especially with a view to the next game in the Champions League.

"The chemistry is no longer right. I'm excited to see what happens at Bayern in the next 24 hours.

"I can even imagine that they could continue with an interim coach."

Howevr, Bayern director Christoph Freund says the German tactician will remain in charge for the remainder of the campaign.

"Yes, 100 percent, [Tuchel will remain in charge]. Everyone has to take a look at themselves."
