Bundesliga match report Eintracht Frankfurt v Mainz 12 May 2019

Anthony Ujah's second-half brace guided Mainz to a 2-0 victory over top-four hopefuls Eintracht Frankfur on Sunday.

Frankfurt pulled out all the big guns, Luka Jovic and Ante Rebic leading the line despite a hard-slogging Uefa Europa League semi-final against Chelsea on Thursday.

Mainz were on the back-foot 18 minutes in when Filip Kostic raced down the wing to play in Rebic, who volleyed over the top.

On their final away game of the campaign, the visiting side asked a few questions of the hosts with a couple of efforts from Anthony Ujah and Jean-Philippe Mateta.

An early change ensued from the visiting outfit during the interval, as Giulio Donati replaced Daniel Brosinski.

Frankfurt were pegged back on 53 minutes when Ujah showed composure to finish off a well-laid delivery.

The Nigerian grabbed a second four minutes later from an identical position to the opener after good teamwork.

Adi Hutter threw caution to the wind with a double substitution on 61 minutes, as Jonathan de Guzman and Sebastien Haller entered.

Despite probing for a come back, the hosts failed to get the required cutting edge to breakdown the visitors.

As a result, the travelling outfit walked away with all the points, as Frankfurt bow out of the top-four ahead of the final day next weekend.
