Despite the result, it was a momentous evening for the Brazil international, who scored both of his side's goals and claimed a piece of history for himself in the process.
Upon opening the scoring for Chelsea from the penalty spot, the 31-year-old became the first-ever player to score a Premier League goal in every month of the calendar year.

Willian's feat was only made possible by the coronavirus-related extension of the league – which ordinarily enjoys its off-season during June and July – and leaves Frank Lampard with a difficult decision to make regarding the player's future.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk star's contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of the season, and it looks increasingly unlikely that he will be offered a new deal, despite being one of the club's most important players.
